Ran across an opportunity on Soaping 101’s Facebook page this morning and rather than flipping past a post as I’m prone to do (“oh, I’ll come back to it later . . .”), I STOPPED what I was doing, packed a box of soap, printed a label and took the package to the mailbox. It only took a few minutes of my time. I must admit to sometimes turning down the volume on disasters because I feel powerless to provide any real help. But the truth is that anything we can do, no matter how small, to alleviate another’s suffering–that is the thing we should do. Just have to keep myself from racing on to the next errand, the next activity, the next checkmark on my list, so that the urgent does not take precedence over the important. Sending love to those affected by the tornadoes in OK.
